So I am sitting around the house, dying to get outside when it starts raining, and all of a sudden my need to go outside vanishes. Well it happened to also be lunchtime, and I was getting hungry. I had some corn in the fridge, and decided to make something raw. I hope you enjoy my Raw Corn Chowder w. Basil
Ingredients:
- A couple Ears of Corn
- 3 Tbsp of Seeds (Pumpkin, Sunflower, Almond, Cashew)
- A clove of garlic
- 2-3 Tbsp Olive Oil

Today is the day, I will start to share my recipes on a frequent basis with you all here. I have been thinking about what I could do with my blog aside from showcasing my work, but felt it wasn’t nearly enough to show who I am,and what I am all about. So I decided (with some persuasion from friends) to start (b)logging everything I have learned over the past 6 years about Nutrition, health and Fitness. Starting with this recipe for a delicious RAW super juice.
Juice is so simple to make, and if you have a great juicer like I have (picture below), even the cleaning up takes only minutes.

So on to the recipe.
Ingredients (Preferably organic)
- 5 Leaves of Lacino Kale
- 5 Leaves of Kale (the curly kind) or approx. 10 leaves of either
- 3 Kiwis
- 1 Apple
- 1 inch chunk of Ginger
Process
Basically the order in which to process the vegetables is really not so important, although I have my preferred method. I like to start with the harder vegetables like Ginger and kale, then apple, and lastly the soft fruit Kiwi.
Notes
The great thing about this recipe, is that since all the ingredients are either green or clear in color, the juice comes out in a very rich green hue, and needless to say… Its delicious! Enjoy.
Health
Now the more factual part. So what exactly is so good for you about this green juice?
Here’s what I’ve learned: Continue Reading →

Its been a while, since I’ve been writing about health related stuff, but in the last couple of months I have several times been asked “How do you stay that way being vegan?” By “That way” I guess they mean in shape or looking fresh?
Either way, my response is always, its actually easier to stay healthy and lean as a vegan than on a “regular diet”. By regular I’m implying a typical carnivorous diet, a meat and potatoes diet if you will.

A little history
I grew up eating the Meat and potatoes diet, and would consider myself an Omnivore, I ate pretty much anything that came my way lol, and I had a healthy appetite as well. Although I was never overweight, I was always a “big boy” and exercised alot. Anyway back to the topic. How to stay lean and strong on a vegan diet. Well there are a million ways to skin this cat, but what is a common denominator is variety and balance. What I often see missing in a regular diet is both.
When I became vegan 6 years ago, I had to relearn nearly everything i knew about nutrition and diet, and I am still on that path learning, being an eager student, and off course it helps that I love food especially fruits and vegetables. Continue Reading →
